eating noodles in the sun right now and I loved this. ❤️
some of my favourite food memories include:
– my sister eating super noodles age 15, watching Maury or Jerry Springer and arguing with me, 5 (it sounds harsh, but it’s oddly comforting, as it takes me back to that time)
– chicken and sweetcorn pizza at Poldhu Cove in Cornwall, ~2011, still the best pizza I recollect eating to date. Other than Franco Manca’s.
– making paneer curry and gourmet sub sandwiches with my friends during uni (these included tomatoes, black olives, chorizo to name a few)
– sunday morning fry-ups from my childhood, where I’d do the scrambled eggs and toast. The smell of cafetiere coffee from this.
– the co-op chicken caesar wrap from the petrol station at 12am, which I’d get to prevent hangovers in-between clubbing. crying from vodka bringing out the bad, artificial mayo, sweet wrap taste
I absolutely adore this! Cooking has become one of my favourite things to do—a love language if you will—and my favourite way to romanticise the day. Possibly because a friend of mine once told me when I was young that I would never be able to cook anything more than beans on toast! We’ll look at me now!
I’ve started to make notes of my favourite food memories too, and honestly it gives me such pleasure thinking back to each bite and the atmosphere that surrounded me at the time.
I’m hungy…
